A. Record Entire Screen, Window, or Custom (This Tab)/Selected Area
B. Record Camera Only
C. Record This Tab using our browser extension
D. Solutions
A. If the user's computer has a low screen resolution, the recorded video will be limited to the maximum resolution of the user's display when using the Entire Screen, Window, or Custom (This Tab)/Selected Area recording modes.
For instance, if the display resolution of your computer is 1920*1080 and you choose a higher resolution ratio for recording, the video will still be recorded in 1080p because of your computer's resolution limitations. Similarly, if the display resolution of your computer is 720p and you select a higher resolution ratio for recording, the video will still be recorded in 720p due to the limitations of your computer's resolution.
It is recommended to select the highest resolution available for recording.
B. When recording Camera Only with our browser extension, if 4K resolution cannot be achieved, this is due to resolution limitations imposed by your browser.
When recording Camera Only with the AwesomeScreenshot Desktop App for Mac, if 4K resolution cannot be achieved, this is due to resolution limitations imposed by your Mac.
The AwesomeScreenshot Desktop App for Windows has been verified to support 4K resolution when recording Camera Only.
C. When recording 'This Tab' using our browser extension, you can capture video in 4K or 1080p quality.
This works even if your computer monitor doesn't support these high resolutions, because the extension accesses the high-resolution streaming source directly when in 'This Tab' recording mode.
D. Solutions:
- If your computer screen resolution is low:
Record "This Tab" in the WebM format and select 1080p or 4K to achieve better quality.
- If your computer has a high screen resolution:
Record in the WebM format using any recording mode to achieve better quality.
