Usually, there should be no problem when switching Google accounts to log in.
Feedback:
"I'm trying to switch the Google account I'm using Awesome Screenshot with. When I try to log in using Google to the new account, and I select sign in with other account, it automatically logs me in to the old account I used, even when I'm logged out. Can you please help me on how to log in with the new account I want to use and not the old account? "
It sounds like your browser has cached your Google login session, which is causing it to automatically authorize your old account before you have the chance to switch.
To break this loop and log in with your new account, please try the following steps:
Option 1: Sign out of Google completely
- Go to google.com in a new tab.
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Select "Sign out of all accounts".
- Go back to Awesome Screenshot and try logging in again. It should now prompt you to enter the email and password for your new account.
Option 2: Revoke access from the old Google account If Option 1 doesn't work, you can force Google to forget the connection to Awesome Screenshot:
- Make sure you are logged into the old Google account.
- Go to your Google Account Security settings.
- Scroll down to "Third-party apps with account access" and find Awesome Screenshot.
- Click on it and select "Remove Access"/"Delete all connections".
- Go back to Awesome Screenshot and try logging in. Because the permission was revoked, Google will be forced to ask you which account you want to use to re-authorize it.
Option 3: Clear Cookies or use Incognito Mode As a quick workaround, you can open an Incognito / Private Browsing window. Because Incognito mode doesn't share cookies with your main browser, it won't remember your old account and will let you sign in cleanly with the new one. Alternatively, you can clear your browser's cache and cookies for google.com and awesomescreenshot.com.
