When the remaining space of the system disk of your computer where your browser files are usually saved is less than 2GB, the notice of "Your disk storage is almost full. Please free up some space to continue recording." will prompt.
Upon seeing this notice, you can remove some files that you won't use in the future to free up space on that disk. The temporary files are usually saved on disk C, so removing some temporary files in disk C or unstall some Apps can solve this problem.
Reason:
We just released our V3 version. In this version, when saving the recording to Cloud/AwesomeScreenshot.com, it will be automatically saved to a local disk on your computer temporarily. The temporary file will be automatically removed from your computer after the recording is fully uploaded to our Cloud.
The purpose is to avoid data loss. In the past, if a user's internet connection was unstable or very slow, some parts of the whole video or the entire video might not be uploaded to our Cloud.
Solution Method 1: Search for temporary files in the Chrome browser folder on your computer's system disk by entering "Chrome browser" and delete them.
Solution Method 2: Unstall/Delete some Apps that you do not use recently to free up the space of the system disk of your computer.
Solution Method 3: You may use clearance software such as Ccleaner from https://www.ccleaner.com to delete temporary files on your computer.
Solution Method 4: Before the clearance is successfully conducted, you may use our desktop app for Windows or Mac to record.
1). Install Awesomescreenshot Desktop App for Windows by the following link:
https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/awesome-screenshot-%26recorder/9PBC89BQ10ZQ?hl=en-US&gl=US
When you use Awesomescreenshot Desktop App for Windows, if you select to save your recording to Cloud/AwesomeScreenshot.com, the recording file that is temporarily saved in the default folder or the folder you set will be automatically removed after the recording is completely uploaded to our Cloud.
If you select to save the recording to Local/your computer, the recording file is saved in the default folder or the folder you set forever unless you delete it.
2). Install the AwesomeScreenshot Desktop App for Mac and the AwesomeScreenshot Safari extension by clicking on the following link:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/awesome-screenshot-recorder/id1531282066?mt=12
When using the Awesomescreenshot Desktop App for Mac, if you choose to save your recording to Cloud/AwesomeScreenshot.com, the temporary recording file that is stored in a temporary folder on your computer will be automatically removed after that part is uploaded to our server. The entire recorded video will be uploaded to our website in small parts, minimizing the space occupied by the temporary file on your computer. Therefore, there will be no temporary storage issues.
Note:
The developer is actively working on implementing a better solution to resolve the temporary recording file storage issue from our extensions.
